So we just got our first robot vacuum cleaner, a Eufy robovac 11S slim. And omg, I love it! One of my best purchases ever!

My sister has had hers for about 6 months. She raved about it and it was still going strong, so I decided to bite the bullet and get one.
My first thought was why did it take me so long to get one of these. The time saved is phenomenal.
With 2 boys, our floors get messy! This has saved me so much time, and I have clean floors all the time now.
Why you need to get a Eufy Robovac 11S
The suction is good! The official rating is 1300pa, which is strong. But the thing you need to know is it picks up really well.
The large capacity dust box can hold up to 0.6lh. I need to empty mine about once every three or four times, but it takes seconds. It’s not a chore to empty.
It requires no vacuum cleaner bags, which is obviously better for the environment and kinder to your wallet.
It will save you so much time. You can put it on when you’re out of the house, or do other household chores while Eufy is working. Or watch TV.
It’s fairly quiet. Much quieter than a normal vacuum. You could put it on at night downstairs while you sleep upstairs. Having said this, it does make some noise, so may be distracting if you’re trying to watch TV or concentrate while the Eufy 11S is doing its thing. But it doesn’t bother me.
It comes with a remote control so you can sit down and relax and use the remote control to target one part of your floor if you wish.
It has a 100 minute runtime, which is plenty of time to vacuum your floors in one go. Normally with a lot of time leftover.
It navigates its own way back to the charging base when it’s low on power, so you can go out and leave the Eufy 11S to do its thing. We do this often. And it’s lovely to come back to. It feels like a cleaner has been in while you’ve been away.
There’s a timer so you can programme the Eufy 11S to come on at a certain time each day.
Drop sensors on the 11S sense when there’s a drop! So you don’t have to worry about it falling downstairs. I couldn’t quite believe this when we first used it upstairs but I didn’t need to worry. It senses any drops and moves away. Amazingly, it vacuums right up to the edge of any drop.
There’s an infra-red sensor, so it avoids obstacles.
It gets in places that I don’t vacuum. One example is under our TV stand. I have to move the TV stand to vacuum under it with an upright vacuum. Or get on my hands and knees with a vacuum attachment. But the Eufy 11s is slim enough to get under there and vacuum with no problem.
It comes with extra filters and side brushes, which is handy so you have spares when you need them.
It automatically increases suction power within 1.5 seconds when extra vacuuming strength is needed.
It navigates around tight spaces
Finally, it comes with a 12 month guarantee.
Does the Eufy Robovac 11S work on dark floors?
I read all the blurb before I bought the 11S. One of my first concerns is that it said it may not work on dark floors. This is a problem with a lot of robot vacuums. We have dark floors throughout our downstairs. However, I figured if it didn’t work on the dark floors downstairs we could just use it up the carpets upstairs. Turns out we didn’t need to worry. It works perfectly on our Karndean dark floors.
Does it work the Eufy Robovac 11S work on rugs?
It works like a dream on our short pile rug. It mounts it easily and dismounts easily too.
It’s easy to set up.
It’s super easy and quick to get going. First, push in the side brushes on the bottom. You need to push them in firmly. We thought we’d pushed ours in, but they kept coming out when the Eufy 11s mounted the rug. A quick inspection and we realised we needed to give them a firmer push. Efuy now mounts and dismounts the rung with no problems.
What else you need to know.
When you vacuum, make sure that any cords are off the floor. It will try to vacuum up cables if they are in the way. However, when it has done this (because we’ve accidentally left them out!!) it hasn’t done any damage. You can easily just lift up any cables that are in the way but handily the Eufy 11s comes with cable ties so you can also use those to ensure the cables won’t get stuck.
You also need to pick up any clutter or small items such as coins that may get stuck. Basically, just have an uncluttered floor, which is what you will need with all robot vacuums.
It works a bit haphazardly. It seems to go off in all kinds of directions, but somehow it seems to vacuum up all the crumbs off the floor despite the way it works. Another thing that impressed me is that it does an amazing job in our tight spaces. I’m just really very impressed!
I was worried it wouldn’t get into corners and pick up around the sides, but it really does an amazing job. There are some corners, it can’t quite get into so I just brush any crumbs from the corner into Eufy’s path. I find this is easier and quicker than what I would have done with my upright vacuum cleaner which is to change the attachment to get into the corners.
The Eufy 11S even worked when my husband lay on the rug in the middle of the floor, it just vacuumed around him!
There are other robot vacuums with lots of bells and whistles. Some connect to Alexa and / or can be operated by voice control. Some connect to a smartphone app. Others have a mopping function. The top of the range vacuums have mapping sensors and will learn to navigate your rooms.
However, if you’re looking for an excellent value robot vacuum that does a top range job the Eufy robovac 11S is the perfect option, combining excellent cleaning with minimal effort without breaking the bank.
